Pay After Arrival
Free up your cash by deferring your freight payment instead of paying before your goods leave your supplier. It’s a way to manage cash flow across the gap between paying a supplier and selling your stock. Apply once, and the option travels with your future bookings.

Frequently Asked Questions About Shipping from China to Canada-
Goods imported from China may be subject to customs duties and 5% GST, depending on the product and its tariff classification. Canada’s general de minimis threshold for qualifying courier and postal imports is only CAD $20, so most commercial shipments will exceed it. Additional sales taxes may also apply depending on the province. Ship4wd coordinates customs clearance through its licensed broker partner and gives you visibility into the applicable duties and taxes for your shipment.
-
Shipping time depends on your shipping mode, route, and final destination. FCL ocean freight typically takes 15 – 22 days to Canada’s West Coast and 30 – 37 days to the East Coast, while LCL can add another 7 – 14 days. Air freight typically takes 3 – 7 days. Door-to-door timelines are longer once customs clearance and inland delivery are included.
-
For smaller shipments, LCL ocean freight is often the most cost-effective option because you pay only for the container space your cargo uses. As a general guide, Ship4wd recommends LCL for shipments under 14 CBM and FCL for larger loads. Air freight generally costs more, but can make sense for urgent, high-value, or lightweight shipments. Check current rates for the shipping mode that fits your shipment.
-
When you book with Ship4wd, your freight rate is locked at booking, helping protect your shipment from market rate changes while you wait for your cargo to be ready. You can lock FCL rates up to 45 days in advance and LCL rates up to 14 days in advance, making it easier to plan your shipping costs ahead of time.
-
For most shipments, you’ll need a commercial invoice, packing list, and transport document, such as a bill of lading for ocean freight or an air waybill for air freight. Your commercial invoice must include the information required by CBSA, and additional customs documentation may be required depending on your goods and shipment. Ship4wd coordinates the paperwork and customs filings needed for your shipment as part of the booking process.
